AWOS
Presentey's PEPL AWOS PEP9809 is an intelligent, software-based system that provides automated, accurate and highly reliable weather information from an array of modular weather sensors.
The system features an open and modular architecture that allows integration of a variety of optional system components, addition a wide range of sensors, and easy reconfiguration of the system.
The PEPL AWOS is versatile enough to meet specific end-user requirements that vary from one user or application to another.
- Open & modular architecture
- Flexibility to meet varied applications
- Expandability in number & type of weather sensors used
- Reliability with self test, calibration & fault detection
- AWOS computer system & GUI based software
- Supports multiple displays
The PEPL AWOS consists of an appropriate array of weather sensors, a Sensor Data Logger (SDL), an AWOS
computer system and the PEPL AWOS Software. The weather sensors are connected to the SDL which collects and formats the sensor data and transfers it to the AWOS computer system for processing by the AWOS software. The resulting weather information is displayed in a clear and easy to read format by means of a graphical user interface (GUI). The calculations and operations performed on the sensor data are software configurable to provide for different needs of individual end users. Presentey's PEPL AWOS is backed by the company’s extensive knowledge and experience in the application of the standards and specifications of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The PEPL MOBILE AWOS PEP5100 is a mobile and modular vehicle-mountable meteorological station that measures conditions such as wind speed & direction, temperature, humidity, and pressure utilizing a sophisticated array of research-quality instrumentation. A global positioning system (GPS) and flux gate compass is also employed to provide heading, speed and location information. The PEP5100 system design conforms with US National Severe Storms Laboratory standards as applied in their mobile mesonet.
The station is easily shipped and quickly installed on the roof rack of any typical economy-sized automobile. The instrument package can be operated under a wide variety of environmental conditions and is a invaluable tool in ongoing governmental, institutional and private meteorological research studies.
For the aviation weather sector, Presentey offers a line of AvMet systems and products. In addition to the AWOS, Presentey provides the following.
The PEPL RVR System measures and provides values for the visibility of the atmosphere and background luminance of the sky at airport runways. The RVR system is comprised of a VISibility Sensor(VIS), Visibility and Ambient Light Integrated Control Electronics (VALICE), Sensor Interface Panel (SIP), RVR computer and software, and features a unique 4-head sensor design for increased error detection and data integrity. This design enables the RVR system to continue operating when one sensor fails. (More)
The PEPL WADDS provides real-time distribution of current Altimeter Setting Indicators (ASI) and wind information. The system consists of a wind sensor, Sensor Transmitter Unit (STU) and Console Display Unit (CDU). The STU processes wind sensor information, measures atmospheric pressure and converts measurements into ASI values for display via the CDU. (More)
Presentey's PEPL Transmissometer provides continuous readings of air transmissivity for monitoring weather, visibility or pollution. The PEPL Transmissometer is a solid state highly accurate, efficient and adaptable solution to monitoring and measurement needs.
